iCode Costa Mesa is hiring an Instructor who loves working with kids and can adapt their teaching style to individual students within a project-based Belt System curriculum in coding, robotics, and technology.

The role emphasizes creating a supportive classroom where students feel challenged and excited to return. A background in education or CS is helpful, with flexible part-time scheduling around class commitments and opportunities to earn bonuses through performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with children ages 5–18 preferred or related mentoring roles.
• Positive, outgoing personality with excellent people skills
• Patient, encouraging, and adaptable communication style
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working evenings and/or weekends
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to manage a classroom and hold students' attention
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Create a fun, encouraging, and engaging classroom experience for every student
• Get to know each student individually and adapt approach to personality and pace
• Manage an orderly, positive classroom at all times
• Teach class material according to iCode's curriculum and guidelines
• Provide weekly updates to parents on student progress
• Assess, record, and report on student development and behavior
• Treat all students equally and fairly
• Maintain a professional, dependable presence at all times
