Each department at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse maintains an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. When hired from this pool, the instructor reports to the relevant department chair and is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Teaching involves preparing and holding classes (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online), maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students’ work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. Workload may also involve advising students and/or providing other service to the department. Additional duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.
