Position Information- Instructors are needed for one or more of the following areas to include planning, writing, and administering Diesel curricula to include teaching: Industrial safety practices; Heavy Duty Braking Systems; Heavy Equipment Hydraulics; Heavy Equip Chassis & Power Train; Diesel & Auxiliary Fuel Systems; Diesel Electrical Systems; Diesel Engines & Engine Overhaul; Lift Truck/Material Handling Equipment; Fork Lift Operator Certification.
- All of these classes include a lab component that is conducted on the Lane Community College main campus. The accompanying instruction, depending on the class, may be delivered in several formats which include both traditional lecture and online presentation.

- The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick leave. Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate degree in Diesel Technology or related field and three (3) or more years of recent experience at the Journeyman or Management level;
OR- Equivalent education and professional experience in Diesel Technology.
Required Experience:Recent experience in a professional Diesel Technology field that would include at least one (1) of the following areas: heavy truck, heavy equipment, lift truck, and/or agricultural equipment repair is preferred.
Conditions of Employment:- Successful applicants are required to complete a criminal background check. Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred Qualifications:Master ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification Tests and/or AED Heavy Equipment certification or must be able to acquire certification within one (1) year.
Teaching experience.
Position Purpose:To provide high quality instruction to students taking Diesel Technology courses and assist students entering or transitioning into the workforce.
Essential Functions:- Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, timesheet completion, release time, text book ordering and related functions.
- Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
- Maintain and post office hours in alignment with College expectations.
- Maintain requirements for student records, attendance, grades, and/or other documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab, including equipment, supplies, and inventory.
- Provide high-quality classroom instruction.
- Create course content, develop and revise course content and materials.
