Bachelor's degree from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program
Current or eligible dental hygiene license in the state of Arkansas, including certification in local anesthesia
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a practicing dental hygienist
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems
Willingness to pursue a master's degree if not already obtained
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in dental hygiene, education, public health, or a related field with five (5) or more years of recent clinical experience as a dental hygienist.
Recent didactic and/or clinical teaching experience
Active involvement in professional organizations at the local, state, or national level
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver instruction in area(s) of expertise
Contribute to program and curriculum assessment and planning activities
Supervise students in clinical and laboratory settings
Participate in the UAMS interprofessional education curriculum
Provide academic advising of students
Engage in admissions and recruiting opportunities
Engage in scholarly and service activities consistent with university, college, and expectations for core faculty
Other duties as assigned
