Volunteer State Community College in Springfield Center is seeking an Instructor of Nursing for a 9/10 Month term to deliver quality instruction in multiple formats and participate in evaluation of student learning and program outcomes.

The successful candidate will teach 15 semester credit hours per term, maintain in-person and virtual office hours, contribute to curriculum development, engage in service activities, and support student recruitment and retention while fostering lifelong

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing with 18 graduate hours OR a BSN with active MSN enrollment.
• RN licensure in Tennessee and CPR certification for healthcare professionals.
• Active nursing practice experience and credentialing in a specialty are preferred.
• Collegiate-level teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction across multiple formats (in-person, online, hybrid).
• Provide effective instruction and create a supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to program curriculum development and accreditation activities.
• Attend to administrative duties, attendance reporting, and grades in a timely manner.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction inmultiple instructional delivery formats and participating inevaluation of student learning and assessment of course and programoutcomes. Faculty will participate in service activities to supportthe College's mission.

Job Duties:

Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are generallyexpected to teach 15 semester credit hours and hold additionalin-person and virtual office hours as defined in College policy.Faculty will teach a total 28-32 semester credit hours across Falland Spring semesters. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dualenrollment, and distance-based courses as required. Provideappropriate and effective instruction. Create and contribute to asupportive learning environment for students within and beyond theclassroom. Actively participate in development, evaluation, andreview of program and curriculum, including assisting with orleading affiliation and accreditation efforts as applicable. Attendto administrative duties, including completion of required Collegetrainings and timely submission of attendance reporting, progressreports, grades, survey responses and other required information.Contribute to College service, including Student-Focused Serviceand Mentorship (advising, career services, student organizationsponsorship, etc.) and committee, taskforce, and project work atthe College, division, and department level. Support studentrecruitment and retention efforts as appropriate. Engage in regularprofessional development around pedagogy and maintain up-to-datesubject-matter expertise; support a culture of lifelong learning.Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines. Otherduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionallyaccredited college and at least 18 graduate semester hours in thediscipline OR a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from aregionally accredited college and actively enrolled in a Master ofScience in Nursing program. Must be endorsed with appropriate credentials of and unencumberedRN licensure in the State of Tennessee, CPR certification forhealthcare professionals, advanced preparation and experience in anursing practice specialty.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Collegiate-level teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge and/or experience delivering effective instruction in avariety of formats, including asynchronous online, traditionalon-ground, hybrid. Ability to use a learning management system forcourse delivery and maintenance of course records.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with adiverse faculty, staff, and student population.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and any technologies orsoftware pertinent to the subject area of instruction.

Pay Rate:

$44,558 - $55,697 annual salarydepending on experience
