Instructor of Music Technology and Music Industry
School of Music
The School of Music seeks a dynamic and collaborative educator toteach in its established, comprehensive music technology programand its recently developed music industry program. Candidatesshould be accomplished musicians with a wide range of technicalskills and expertise in music industry and music technology. Theanticipated start date is August 2027.
Teach courses in music technology and music industry. Workcollaboratively with all faculty. Willingness to contribute to allaspects of life in the School of Music including active involvementin the recruitment and retention of students and curriculumdevelopment. Additional duties related to candidate’s expertise andexperience may also be assigned by the Director.
Preferred qualifications include substantial experience in bothmusic technology and music industry. Primary teachingresponsibilities might include courses in music technology (such asaudio recording techniques), music business, music industrystudies, multimedia (game audio/film), and commercial musicensemble.
The successful candidate will demonstrate versatility in preparingstudents for today’s varied and evolving professional landscape.Areas of knowledge should include rights and copyright, musicbusiness, music production, live music management, stageproduction, arts management, music administration, and commercialmusic. Additional potential teaching areas include appliedinstruction on rock and popular music instruments or inlaptop-based performance.
