Job summary

Wake Technical Community College is expanding its pool of part-time faculty to teach non-degree Workforce Continuing Education courses covering occupational roles, specializations, skills, and industry-recognised credentials in the Chief Information Officer, IT Manager/Director, and IT Project/Program Manager pathways.

Courses may be delivered on campus, through Microsoft Teams, at employer or community sites, or in another format based on needs.

Qualifications

• Strong oral, written, presentation, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, employers, and community partners.
• Proficiency with hardware, software, platforms, tools, and technical processes used in teaching assignments.
• Current technical knowledge demonstrated through recent employment, teaching, or certification.
• Associate or higher degree and five years of professional work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares course plans and instructional materials aligned with learning objectives and credential requirements.
• Delivers instruction in in‑person, live‑online, blended, or other College‑approved formats.
• Assesses student learning and provides timely feedback on progress toward course outcomes.
• Maintains attendance, grades, rosters, and required records by deadlines.
• Creates a safe, inclusive, organized, and professional learning environment.

• Prepares course plans and instructional materials aligned with approved learning objectives, competencies, contact hours, and credential requirements.
• Delivers engaging instruction in assigned in‑person, live‑online, blended, or other College‑approved formats

• Maintains and submits accurate attendance, grades, rosters, and required records by established deadlines

Communicates course expectations, schedules, grading criteria, credential requirements, and student progress clearly and consistently
Maintains current subject‑matter expertise and participates in required orientation, training, evaluation, meetings, and professional development
Collaborates with College personnel to maintain course quality, meet program requirements, and support student completion and department, division, and College goals, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and use Microsoft 365 and other College‑approved instructional and collaboration systems
Ability to complete all required documentation, onboarding activities, compliance training, and instructional preparation by established deadlines
Current technical knowledge demonstrated through recent employment, teaching, or certification
Minimum Requirements
Associate or higher degree
Five years of professional work experience
An equivalent combination of relevant education, industry experience, teaching experience, and professional credentials may be considered
