The Middlebury College Summer Italian School announces an opening for a temporary Instructor of Italian. The position is available during the summer 2022 session, located at the Bennington College campus in Vermont. Our unique program combines a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and recreating with students while reading, writing and speaking exclusively in Italian.
This six-week course on Italian art history, will include architecture and will also focus on Italian museums located not only in the famous "art cities" but in lesser-known areas. The course will give students a unique opportunity to study exceptional artworks in their cultural context. Students will be guided through the multi-layered artistic heritage of Italy over a broad time span from late antiquity to the present. In addition, the professor will hold one conference and participate in other cultural activities of the school. Lodgings are campus dormitory with communal dining
This position is for the summer 2022. In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided.
