This role is for an experienced electrical professional who wants to turn real-world expertise into opportunity for the next generation. Your knowledge of electrical construction will help apprentices connect technical learning with professional practice, develop confidence in the trade, and prepare to contribute to a skilled regional workforce.

The Role in Brief

Gateway faculty facilitate student learning and actively participate in efforts to continually improve student success. As a learning facilitator, you will assess student learning outcomes, evaluate your own teaching effectiveness, and adapt instruction to support student achievement.

As an Instructor, Electrical Construction Apprenticeship, you will bring professional experience in building electrical system design and installation into the learning environment while helping students connect technical knowledge with the standards and expectations of the electrical construction field.

This position reports to the Dean, Business & Workforce Solutions.

What You Will Actually Do

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver approved curriculum and make recommendations, as appropriate, to maintain course effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage the classroom, laboratory, or other applicable learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Provide timely and frequent feedback to students regarding academic performance and progress.

Student Success & Inclusive Learning

  • Promote and participate in student recruitment, retention, and completion efforts.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, respect, and inclusive learning.
  • Support students as they develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and professional expectations needed for success in the electrical trade.
  • Assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and recommend improvements that support student learning and course effectiveness.
