Title:
Instructor, Computer Information Technology - 9/10 Month (Term)
Position Summary
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in computer information technology, including a variety of computer programming languages.
Essential Job Functions/Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach computer science courses via on-ground day and evening, hybrid, virtual or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned.
- Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences.
- Utilize the College's learning management system to provide course materials to students.
- Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
- Regularly check College email and departmental mailbox.
- Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend.
- Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
- Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.
- Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences.
- Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
- Work with students as academic advisor as assigned.
- Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science or closely related field
- Experience with at least two of the following software languages: C#, C++, HTML5/CSS, Java, JavaScript, ASP.Net, SQL, or Python
- Experience with at least one of the following software programs: Access, Oracle, Power BI, Visual Studio, or SQL Server.
Preferred Qualifications
- College level teaching experience
- Experience with three or more of the following software languages: C#, C++, HTML5/CSS, Java, JavaScript, ASP.Net, SQL or Python
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of the student population.
