Job summary

Oregon State University invites applications for fixed-term, non-tenure track Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025/2026 year and Fall Term 2026. Most work is teaching, with options for online formats via E-campus.

Some appointments may renew or transition to instructional roles at the School Head’s discretion. Instructors may teach on-campus or online courses; online-only instructors can work remotely.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrable interest in teaching and mentoring.
• Ability to work within an established course/curriculum structure.
• Proficiency in communicating technical information in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person and/or online courses in civil and construction engineering disciplines.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
• Provide supervision and direction for undergraduate and graduate teaching assistants.
• Serve on committees and engage in professional development to support university initiatives.
