Job summary

Oregon State University’s Department of Chemistry invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Instructors may teach on-campus or via Ecampus, covering analytical, biological, bio-organic, general, environmental, materials, nuclear, organic, and physical chemistry. Appointments may be renewed or transitioned to instructional roles at the department’s discretion.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline appropriate to teaching/instructional tasks.
• Teaching experience at the college and/or university level.
• An evident commitment to educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Instruction
• Administer and teach up to 4 on campus or ecampus (training prior to teaching will be provided and is required) undergraduate courses
• Hold regular Office hours to assist students with coursework and answer questions regarding the curriculum
• Provide supervision/lead work for up to 5 Graduate or Undergraduate student employees
• Following college practices on early warnings, student feedbacks, and grading policies
