Oregon State University invites applications for one or more fixed-term, non-tenure-track Instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2026-2027 academic year at OSU's Department of Chemistry. Courses may be on-campus or through Ecampus, with opportunities for renewal or transition to instructional positions.

Qualified candidates will hold a Master’s in Chemistry and have college-level teaching experience, with a demonstrated commitment to educational equity. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline required for teaching/instructional tasks.
• Teaching experience at the college/university level.
• Commitment to educational equity and inclusive teaching practices.
• This position is a critical/security-sensitive role; a criminal history check is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 4 courses on a term-by-term basis (on campus or via ecampus).
• Hold regular office hours to assist students and address curriculum questions.
• Supervise up to 5 graduate or undergraduate student employees.
• Adhere to college policies on early warnings, feedback, and grading standards.
