Job Overview

The Department of Clinical and Health Information Sciences is searching for an Instructor Represented Adjunct who will also serve as a Director of Clinical Coordinaton for the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology ( AMIT) Program to contribute to the department’s teaching, service and research missions. This is a 12-month per year position. Ideal start date of August 2025.

Essential Functions
  • The Instructor, Adjunct Represented (.99 FTE) is primarily responsible for teaching assigned courses in the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology program.
  • Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to primary instruction of didactic, laboratory and clinical courses using face-to-face and online delivery modalities, assessing/evaluating students’ performance and assignments, scheduling and tracking student clinical rotations, onboarding students to clinical rotations and conduct site visits to assess student performance.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in recruitment, retention, admissions and advising activities; participation in program committee work including program evaluation, accreditation tasks, affiliate contract maintenance, and other program tasks/directives.
  • Required continuing education within all medical imaging modalities, curriculum development and teaching pedagogy.
  • Participation in service and/or scholarship to the department and college are also required.
  • A Master's degree in education OR a Bachelor’s degree with an equivalent of more than three (3) years of full-time work-related experience in medical imaging.
  • Demonstration of teaching experience as an adjunct instructor/clinical educator for at least three (3) months per year for a minimum of two (2) years, OR one (1) year of full-time teaching at the college level.
  • Nationally recognized credentials in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with the ARRT and Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) with the ARRT or NMTCB
  • Two years of clinical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and & two years of clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience instructing students in a clinical affiliate setting as evidenced by completing clinical competencies and student performance evaluations.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of computer technology (including all Microsoft platforms), educational learning systems and general internet navigation.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem solving and ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, counseling, conflict management, and follow-through
  • Strong mentorship with students, clinical preceptors, university staff and faculty.
  • Ability to take direction and coordinate work with colleagues and peers
  • Interest and ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
