GEO Group is seeking an Academic Instructor to teach adult basic education, English language development, and related subjects in a classroom setting. You will help students build foundational skills, plan career paths, and adapt to local customs while supporting individualized learning goals.

The role requires at least a Bachelor's degree and teaching certification, with preference for prior teaching experience in similar settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Valid teaching certificate from the state Department of Education or comparable authority required.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classroom environment to provide adult basic education, English language development, special education, and basic subjects (reading, mathematics, language arts).
• Instruct conversational English and local ideas and customs to students with limited English proficiency.
• Maintain records including testing, inmate/detainee work, and attendance; evaluate and ensure academic progress; provide individual tutoring.
