Job summary

Cecil-College is seeking instructors for ABE/GED and ESOL classes. Positions include morning and evening shifts with 4-6 hours per week, and compensation varies with education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; education degree preferred.
• Experience teaching adults and with disadvantaged populations preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in technology.
• Ability to teach basic math.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person ABE/GED and ESOL classes in a multi-level setting.
• Develop and maintain individualized student plans and folders using test results and goal documents.
• Administer post-testing to eligible students.
• Provide group lessons, activities, and assignments.
• Attend program/state/college trainings and meetings.
• Make material and book recommendations when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Due to the need of interaction with students, employees and college community, this position requires in person presence. Responsible for providing appropriate instruction in a multi-level class. Utilize individual student test results and goal setting documents to provide individualized instruction. Develop and maintain individual student plans and folders. Administer appropriate post-testing to eligible students. Provide appropriate group lessons, activities, and assignments. Attend all required program, state and college trainings and meetings. Make recommendations for materials and book purchases when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree. Bachelor's degree in Education preferred
