Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison’s WisCARES program seeks a Veterinary Technician III to support the clinic’s daily medical functions and help manage teaching load for veterinary students.

Responsibilities include nursing care, medication administration, recordkeeping, and participating in education modules and student reviews. This role blends clinical work with teaching in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• CVT certification required.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs independently.
• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medical, procedural, and billing records and improve recordkeeping processes.
• Dispense medications and prepare prescriptions per medical orders.
• Provide high-quality animal nursing care and document care in the medical record.
• Assist veterinarians with complex medical and surgical procedures and support student rotations.
• Coordinate education-related functions of the clinic including student orientation and Canvas updates.
