Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applicants for an Instructional Technologist to support faculty across modalities, blending technical expertise with pedagogy to design accessible, student-centered learning experiences.

The role partners with CTLE to align technology with outcomes, provide consulting, training, and ongoing professional development; occasional evenings and travel for conferences may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in instructional design and technology, educational technology, higher education, learning sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting faculty or instructors in a higher education or training environment.
  • Experience with learning management systems and instructional technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Faculty Support & Consultation: identify goals and recommend technologies to support learning.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support for faculty using the LMS and tools.
  • Assist faculty in integrating active learning, assessment, and engagement tools into courses.
  • Translate pedagogical needs into tech-enabled solutions.
  • Provide support for core instructional technologies (LMS, video platforms, engagement tools, assessment systems).
  • Pilot and evaluate emerging technologies for instructional value.
