Description Summary
The Part-Time Instructional Technologist Liaison supports facultyand students in the effective use of educational technology toenhance teaching and learning at Morton College. This positionassists in creating instructional resources, conducting trainingsessions, and providing one-on-one support for faculty and studentsusing the College’s Learning Management System (LMS) and otherinstructional tools.
The Liaison collaborates closely with the full-time InstructionalTechnologist, academic divisions, and the Management InformationSystems (MIS/IT) area to ensure consistent and innovative use oftechnology in instruction. The position requires staying currentwith emerging technologies, best practices, and trends in distancelearning and digital education.
Duties & Responsibilities
Faculty & Student Support
- Support faculty in the effective use of instructionaltechnology in teaching and learning.
- Provide small-group and one-on-one consultations for facultyand students on educational technology use.
- Assist with conducting training workshops to enhance digitalliteracy and course design skills.
Learning Management System (LMS) Support
- Support faculty with course setup, navigation, troubleshooting,and use of advance LMS features.
- Asist with developing and maintaining documentation and userguides for Blackboard Ultra and related academic platforms.
- Create short instructional videos, tutorials, andknowledge-based resources for faculty and students.
Course Development & Multimedia Support
- Assist in the design and development of online, hybrid, andtechnology-enhanced courses.
- Contribute to the development of training materials, guides,and best practice documentation.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with academic departments, student support areas,and the MIS/IT department to strengthen technology use ininstruction.
- Participate in pilot initiatives and implementation of newinstructional technologies.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies that supportteaching and learning.
Other
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline ortechnology-related field
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an academic environment. ·Experience designing and developing web-based courses andinstructional materials.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate technology intoteaching and learning.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonalskills.
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to meet facultyand student needs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of trends and best practices in distancelearning.
- Experience supporting faculty and students in the use ofBlackboard Ultra or other Learning Management Systems.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools such as Zoom,Microsoft Teams, Turnitin, Respondus, Yuja, or similarapplications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (ADA, Section 508,WCAG)and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
