Job summary

JANUS Research Group seeks an Instructional Systems Specialist to administer and supervise educational or training services in support of customer and program objectives. This on-site role is at the Center for Seabees and Facility Engineering (CSFE), Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme, CA.

Candidates should have ISD experience, knowledge of adult learning theories, and proficiency with AIM II and LMS/LAS. The position is full-time, exempt, contingent on contract award, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or instructional system design/analysis or similar technical degree.
  • 3- 5 experience in instructional systems analysis, design, and development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written, concise learning products.
  • Proficient with the Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) II.
  • Familiar using content management systems – Content Planning Module (CPM), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Learning Assessment Systems (LAS).
  • Ability to apply Integrated Learning Environment (ILE), ILT and IMI principles and guidelines for the design and development of training products.

  • Select instructional media, materials, and equipment best suited to meet learning objectives.
  • Plan and accomplish production of all instructional materials.
  • Identify the relationship between training deficiencies and training system modification requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Experience in learning theories such as ADDIE, Andragogy, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne’s Nine Events, Collaborative Constructivist Learning, Problem-based Learning, Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, Discovery Learning.

Objective

Instructional Systems Specialists are responsible for the administration and supervision of educational or training services in formal education and training programs in support of customer and program objectives. Qualified candidates must have experience working within the Operations and/or Training Department within a Naval Construction Force unit to be considered for this position.

Employment Status

Full-time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.

Work Environment and Travel
  • This position is located at the Center for Seabees and Facility Engineering (CSFE) aboard Naval Base Ventura County, CA (Port Hueneme). Qualified candidates should be local to Naval Base Ventura County, CA (Port Hueneme), or surrounding areas to be considered for this position.
  • Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
  • Travel up to 10% anticipated.
