Job summary

JANUS Research Group in Port Hueneme, CA, is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide technical support for a large adult education and vocational training system. The role is on-site at CSFE aboard Naval Base Ventura County, with responsibilities spanning hardware/software maintenance, security implementation, and end-user support.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience in training development and computer systems, plus the ability to plan, design, and test applications

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience or related experience in training development and computer systems and applications.
• Analyze and refine systems requirements.
• Translate systems requirements into applications prototypes.
• Plan and design systems architecture
• Write, debug, and maintain code.
• Determine and design applications architecture.
• Determines output media/formats.
• Work with customers to test applications.
• Assure software and systems quality and functionality.
• Integrate hardware and software components.
• Write and maintain program documentation.
• Evaluate new applications software technologies.
• Ensures the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services.

Responsibilities

Objective

Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and maintaining a large, diverse, and complex adult education and vocational training system. Qualified candidates should have Senior enlisted Naval Construction Force or Civil Corps Officer experience to be considered for this position.

Job Description

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems; monitoring system performance to ensure optimal uptime.

Employment Status

Full-time (40 hours per week). Salaried. Exempt.

Work Environment and Travel

• This position is remote as direct support for the Center for Seabees and Facility Engineering (CSFE) aboard Naval Base Ventura County, CA (Port Hueneme).
• Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
• Travel up to 10% anticipated.
