POSITION: Instructional Support Team Teachers PK-4/ Lead Special Educator
LOCATION: Pell
REPORTS TO: Pell Admin/ MTSS Coordinator
SCHOOL YEAR: 2026/2027
FUNDING: Title I
JOB DESCRIPTION: Serve on an elementary team designed to support colleagues at Claiborne Pell Elementary School to provide quality education to the students, implement RIDE Schoolwide Reform Plan, and to meet district professional development goals.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Certification required by the RI. Department of Education in the appropriate subject areas.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong presentation, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrates excellence in classroom management.
- Ability to know and utilize technology in the teaching and learning process.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities below as evidenced by coursework, educational experience, teaching experience, and the interview process.
- Any such alternatives to the above qualifications as the committee deems appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with teachers, principals, and administrators to be the first point of contact for your team: Responsible for disseminating information from meetings and professional development to your grade level team or area of focus.
- Attend instructional meetings with principals for professional development and planning sessions before or after school 20 hours per year, approximately 1.5 months for meetings and record of meetings and agenda items
- Analyze grade-level student data using Branching Minds to drive instruction and create an agenda for weekly grade-level common planning including a Q & A document to be sent out prior to the PLC.
- Mentor and meet with new teachers as assigned by Pell admin weekly.
- Check in with grade-level peers to provide support with the implementation of the curriculum.
- Facilitate grade level, common planning, and faculty meetings with administrators. Communicate any and all relevant information to your team.
- Open the classroom to model best practices for peers and instructional rounds, use district curriculum resources with fidelity, and effectively, and collaborate with curriculum coaches during professional development opportunities.
- Maintain Year-At-A-Glance; assist in the development of curriculum and arranging grade level events and trips.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
Terms of Employment
Stipend $ 2500.00
