Job summary

Newport Public School District – Pell Elementary School in Newport, Rhode Island seeks a PBIS Coordinator to support school culture and wellness initiatives across the Pell campus.

The role includes leading a Health and Wellness team, planning monthly activities, coordinating staff recognitions, and collaborating with the PTO to promote health, safety, and a positive learning environment.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to lead initiatives.
• Promote a fun, positive culture and climate at Pell Elementary School.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead a Health and Wellness team that meets monthly.
• Organizes Quarterly Staff Celebrations.
• Keep track of Special Holidays (Nurses Day, Secretary's Day, etc.).
• Organizes opportunities for staff exercise.
• Prepares monthly gifts for staff.
• Collaborates with administration to support health and wellness for staff.
• Collaborate with Pell PTO to plan events for staff.
• Health and Wellness Bulletin Board.
• Promote Seasonal Themes.

POSITION:PBIS Coordinator (2 positions)
LOCATION:Pell
REPORTS TO:Pell Administratior
SCHOOL YEAR:2026/2027

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Assigned to Claiborne Pell Elementary in any instructional position
Demonstrates ability to perform the responsibilities listed below as evidenced by previous experience.
Has strong organizational skills
Promote a fun, positive culture, and climate at Claiborne Pell School

• Create and lead a Health and Wellness team that meets monthly
