Job summary

Pell Elementary School in Newport, Rhode Island is seeking mentors for teachers with the same certification to support professional growth during the 2026/27 school year.

Mentors will meet regularly, provide explanation and professional development of grade level curriculum, and help mentees navigate school policies and initiatives, with a $1,500 stipend for the year.

Qualifications

• Assigned to Pell Elementary in desired certification.
• Demonstrates willingness to perform the responsibilities listed below as evidenced by previous experience.
• Has strong organizational skills.
• Promotes positive relationships with Pell colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mentor to teachers with same certification.
• Meet with mentee teachers on a regular basis.
• Provide explanation and professional development of grade level curriculum.
• Support mentee teacher with assistance in school policies and initiatives.
• Assist mentee with required grade level assessments and computer programs.
• Participates in Monthly Professional Development around mentoring.
• Maintain record of meetings and agenda items.
• Meetings not to exceed 30 hours annually.

POSITION:Mentors- grades TBD (5 positions)

LOCATION: Pell Elementary

REPORTS TO: Pell Administration

SCHOOL YEAR: 2026/27

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:

• Assigned to Pell Elementary in desired certification
