Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, MD invites applications for an Instructional Specialist, Title IIA, in the Department of Professional Learning. This is a grant-funded, yearly position (1.0 FTE) reporting to the director of the Department of Professional Growth Systems.

The specialist will plan, develop, and implement professional learning, deliver staff development for adults, and serve as trainer, coach, and facilitator to advance system-wide goals and equity.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field.
• Minimum seven years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Leadership in equity and school improvement; experience in staff development for adults.
• Maryland state teaching certificate (standard and advanced).

Responsibilities

• Assist the director in planning and implementing courses and training.
• Provide professional learning opportunities for staff to meet district goals.
• Deliver and model effective adult learning strategies; serve as trainer, coach, and facilitator.
• Coordinate after-hours and weekend trainings and attend district/state meetings as required.
