Job summary

East Newton Elementary School is hiring an Instructional Paraprofessional for the Kindergarten level to support classroom instruction and student interventions. The paraprofessional reports to the principal and assigned teacher and assists with preparations, supervision, and documentation of student activities.

The role requires effective communication, organization, and the ability to work with both adults and students.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or two years college or HS diploma/GED with Paraprofessional Certification Test.
• Valid Paraprofessional Certificate.
• Able to work well with adults and students and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups to provide intervention or enrichment activities.
• Assist teacher with implementing strategies for reinforcing material according to student needs.
• Support behavior management and document student progress under teacher guidance.
• Supervise students and communicate issues to the teacher promptly.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom setups as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of school information and student records.
• Attend faculty and other required meetings and complete assigned duties.
