Job summary

East Central University (Ada, Oklahoma) seeks an Instructional Services Librarian for a 12-month non-tenure track position. The librarian will oversee instructional and reference programs, develop information literacy plans, and liaise with multiple academic departments.

The role includes supervising a full-time staff member, maintaining LibGuides standards, and contributing to university committees. Instructional experience and MLS preferred.

Qualifications

• MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program is encouraged.
• Instructional experience preferred.

• Computer literacy and data analysis skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees instructional and reference programs with a focus on continuous improvement and strong customer service.
• Plans, implements, and assesses the library’s information literacy plan.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of the reference schedules.
• Develops, schedules, and coordinates the library’s involvement with Freshman Seminar.
• Oversees LibGuides maintenance and standards compliance review.
• Instructs students in library use and research skills in the classroom and at the Reference Desk.
• Serves as liaison to several academic departments, collaborating with faculty on research, collection development, information literacy curriculum development, and special projects.
• Remains up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices.
• Leads and serves on library and university committees.
• Supervises one full-time staff member.
