Job summary

Atlas Schools in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking an experienced Elementary School Assistant Principal and Preschool Program Director to support the Elementary School Principal, lead instructional coaching, and drive data-informed decisions.

The role oversees kindergarten readiness, MTSS for K–4, supervision of teachers and paraprofessionals, and the planned launch of a new preschool program in Fall 2028, with potential progression to a Director role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• At least five years of experience working in preschool education and programming.
• At least three years of demonstrated success improving student achievement in an urban classroom setting.
• At least two years of instructional coaching experience in a K-12 public education setting.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze schoolwide data, identify meaningful trends, and use findings to inform instructional decisions.
• Certification or demonstrated experience working with English Learners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Preschool Program Director License will need to be obtained within 1 year of starting in the role.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Leadership & Coaching: Provide instructional leadership and support to the Special Education Team, CLDE Team, paraprofessionals and preschool teaching team.
• Student Support & Assessment: Oversee kindergarten behavior systems and the administration of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment.
• Lead MTSS implementation for grades K-4.
• Campus Operations: Support campus duty oversight and operational needs.
• Early Childhood Program Development/Preschool: Lead design and development of preschool programming for Fall 2028 and potential Director progression.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
