Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Instructional Leader in Brooklyn Center, MN to support school improvement initiatives. This role requires collaboration with school leadership to implement data-informed decision-making strategies that enhance instructional practices.

The Instructional Leader will participate in classroom observations, assist in data collection and analysis, and support colleagues in utilizing educational tools. An opportunity to represent teachers on the school leadership team is also included.

Job description

The Instructional Leader serves as a teacher leader who supports the implementation of school improvement priorities through collaborative inquiry, data-informed decision making, and instructional improvement efforts.

• Serve for a 1-year term
• Report to the Site Principal
• Attend MTSS Planning team monthly meetings and Continuous Improvement Team meetings
• Support implementation of building and district improvement priorities
• Assist with the collection, organization, and analysis of student achievement, attendance, behavior, and instructional data
• Collaborate with school leadership to identify strengths, opportunities for growth, and emerging needs
• Participate in classroom observation and instructional learning walks to gather evidence aligned to school improvement goals
• Model instructional practices and strategies aligned to district initiatives and evidence-based practices
• Support peer observation opportunities that promote reflective practice and professional growth
• Assist in gathering staff feedback and implementation data related to school improvement initiatives
• Serve as a liaison between classroom staff and school leadership by communicating implementation successes, challenges, and needs
• Contribute to the development, monitoring, and evaluation of school improvement plans and continuous improvement goals
• Support colleagues in utilizing district instructional tools, frameworks, and data systems
• Maintain documentation and artifacts related to continuous improvement work as requested by school leadership
• Attend training and support meetings
