Job summary

IES is seeking an Instructional Designer to support the training department's mission by managing the LMS and collaborating with management on content development and delivery. The role reports to the Training Manager and focuses on creating quality training content for all employees.

Responsibilities include developing courses, editing online materials, and ensuring effective learning experiences using tools like Articulate Storyline and Camtasia.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS).
• Understanding the visual design of learning best practices.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Experience with e-learning software such as Articulate Storyline and Camtasia.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to think critically and ask detailed questions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develops and designs courses and curriculum.
• Edits and develops online learning materials.
• Creates learning experiences and environments.
• Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
• Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.
• Develops instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
• Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.
• Manages online learning communities; LMS
• Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content.
• Trains instructors in how to use learning technologies.
• Facilitates discussion and collaboration via social media.
• Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
• Assists with scripts for video and audio content.
• Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.
• Other duties as assigned
