Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is seeking a creative and innovative Instructional Designer (FlexTrain System) to develop high-quality, interactive digital learning experiences using multimedia and emerging artificial intelligence technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with digital content creation and AI-enabled platforms such as ElevenLabs, Synthesia, Storyblocks, Motion Array, VideoScribe, CapCut, or comparable technologies, along with the ability to adapt to new technologies as they emerge. This is a full-time, one-year assignment. Continuation of this position is contingent upon the availability of funding.
Job Duties
- Design and develop engaging computer-based training courses that integrate graphics, animation, video, simulations, and other interactive elements to create clear, effective, and visually compelling learning experiences.
- Create and edit high-quality multimedia content using emerging AI technologies and tools such as ElevenLabs, Synthesia, Storyblocks, Motion Array, VideoScribe, CapCut, and other multimedia and AI-enabled platforms to enhance the creativity, quality, and efficiency of digital learning development.
- Ensure instructional materials meet established standards for quality, consistency, usability, accessibility, accuracy, and learner engagement.
- Manage multiple instructional design and multimedia projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and meet established expectations and deliverables.
- Support the continuous improvement of FlexTrain's instructional design practices, including development processes, templates, quality standards, and digital learning products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Web Design) and four (4) years of relevant work experience or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred.
Additional Skills Requested
- Strong instructional design and adult learning skills, with the ability to develop engaging, learner-centered computer-based training and digital learning experiences.
- Proficiency in multimedia development and visual design, including graphics, animation, video, simulations, voiceovers, and interactive learning elements.
- Ability to effectively use emerging AI technologies and multimedia tools, such as ElevenLabs, Synthesia, Storyblocks, Motion Array, VideoScribe, CapCut, and similar platforms.
- Strong attention to quality and detail, with the ability to ensure instructional materials are accurate, consistent, accessible, user-friendly, visually appealing, and engaging.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability skills, including the ability to work with subject matter experts and team members, incorporate feedback, learn new technologies, and continuously improve instructional design processes and products.
