Job summary

Valparaiso University’s Center for Innovation in Teaching, Assessment, and Learning (CITAL) seeks an Instructional Designer to design, develop, and support online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses across campus. You will collaborate with faculty and university colleagues to implement best practices in teaching and learning and manage multiple development projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of instructional design models, experience with LMS platforms, and the ability to lead workshops

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or a related field.
• Three or more years’ experience designing online or hybrid courses in an educational environment.
• Strong knowledge of learning theories, effective teaching and learning practices, and instructional design models.
• Strong organizational skills, project and time-management skills, and attention to detail.
• Visual and multimedia design skills, including storyboarding.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate with faculty and staff across the University.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with LMS and online creation/delivery platforms.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Partner with faculty to design, develop, and support courses and programs.
• Provide workshops on instructional technology and pedagogical topics.
• Manage multiple projects with different stakeholders for timely delivery.
• Assist faculty to design for online and hybrid environments with accessibility and alignment to outcomes.
• Collaborate to transition face-to-face courses to hybrid/online formats.
• Evaluate and revise courses to enhance learning experiences.
