Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop and implement technical training programs for a federal client.

You will work with cross-functional teams to engage stakeholders and end-users to create effective learning experiences and ensure adoption of new systems. Responsibilities include analyzing training materials, building interactive content with ADDIE and Bloom’s, coordinating with SMEs, and establishing metrics to measure user adoption.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • 4+ years of experience in Education, Training, or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implement
  • Knowledge of contemporary learning management software platforms
  • Experience with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers
  • A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skills
  • Experience with 508 compliant training
  • Experience working in an agile project-based environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Training tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Training and Instructional Design

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training development and delivery
  • Establish metrics and measure user adoption
  • Facilitate learning management system administration, usage, and develop feedback loops for enhancement
  • Consider long-term governance for sustaining training programs and materials

Job description

As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive technical training programs in support of our federal client. Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
