Job description

This person will work closely with Product Management, Sales, and technical subject-matter experts to turn complex technical information into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building training from the ground up. You will have ownership over the learning process — from identifying training needs and developing curriculum to creating content, managing courses within the LMS, and measuring effectiveness.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with technical professionals, managing multiple projects, and using modern technology and AI tools to create learning content efficiently.

This role is 100% in-office in North Charlotte

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training programs.
• Work with subject-matter experts to gather technical information and translate it into effective learning experiences.
• Develop course objectives, outlines, assessments, presentations, videos, job aids, and other instructional materials.
• Apply instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to training programs.
• Review and update existing curriculum to ensure content remains accurate, relevant, and engaging.
• Develop training for both internal employees and external customers or industry audiences.

LMS & Learning Operations

• Administer and maintain the company's Learning Management System.
• Build and publish courses, learning paths, assessments, and other LMS content.
• Manage learner enrollment, completion tracking, reporting, and course administration.
• Monitor training participation and effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Help establish consistent processes for managing the organization's learning programs.

Technical & Product Training

• Partner with Product Management and technical experts to develop training around products, applications, and industry topics.
• Take complex technical concepts and make them understandable and useful for different audiences.
• Develop sales enablement and product training to improve the technical knowledge of the sales organization.
• Support customer education through webinars, workshops, events, and other learning programs.
• Develop CEU-eligible or accredited educational content when applicable.

Content Development

• Create learning content across multiple formats, including video, presentations, digital courses, interactive materials, and print resources.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, content development, course creation, and instructional design workflows.
• Utilize tools such as Microsoft 365, Canva, Adobe Express, and other content-development platforms.
• Repurpose existing technical and training content into new learning formats.

Program & Stakeholder Management

• Manage instructional design projects from initial concept through launch.
• Coordinate timelines, deliverables, reviews, and approvals with internal stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, technical experts, and external partners.
• Gather feedback and use learner data to continuously improve training programs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in instructional design, learning & development, corporate training, or a related field.
• Experience designing and developing training programs from concept through delivery.
• Experience working with an LMS.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning concepts.
• Experience developing content in multiple formats, including e-learning, video, presentations, digital, and print.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical or complex subject matter.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Comfortable incorporating AI tools into daily instructional design and content-development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing training within a technical, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or B2B environment.
• Experience creating CEU-eligible or accredited training programs.
• Familiarity with authoring and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, Articulate, Captivate, or similar platforms.
• Experience with email marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Mailchimp, or Constant Contact.
• Exposure to marketing, social media, or event-based education programs.
