Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies seeks an Instructional Designer for ARCO Design/Build's Learning and Development team. You will own projects from concept to delivery, build learning solutions, and help establish instructional design standards and best practices.

You will design and develop e-learning, workshops, curricula, and job aids, collaborating with subject matter experts and program managers to drive measurable outcomes.

As an Instructional Designer on ARCO Design/Build’s Learning and Development team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build learning solutions from the ground up, and help establish instructional design standards and best practices.

As an Instructional Designer on ARCO Design/Build’s Learning and Development team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build learning solutions from the ground up, and help establish instructional design standards and best practices.

You will support learning initiatives for associates at various career stages, creating e-learning, workshops, curriculum, learning paths, mentorship and onboarding resources, job aids, activities, assessments, and facilitator materials. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented professional who enjoys collaborating with subject matter experts, managing multiple projects, and turning ideas into polished, practical learning experiences.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Translate business needs and program outcomes into clear learning objectives, structured curricula, and engaging learning experiences.
• Design and develop e-learning, workshops, presentations, job aids, activities, assessments, and other learning materials.
• Develop curriculum, learning paths, mentorship and onboarding resources, and learning management system content.
• Create practice opportunities, scenarios, knowledge checks, and assessments that support learning and application.
• Partner with subject matter experts, Program Managers, L&D Specialists, and other stakeholders to develop effective learning solutions.
• Own the instructional design, structure, consistency, and quality of learning materials.
• Support SME-led in-person sessions through defined learning materials while partnering with L&D Specialists on content application and delivery.
• Revise learning materials based on feedback, evaluation results, learner performance, and changing business needs.
• Maintain instructional design standards, templates, documentation, and version control.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining strong organization, communication, and attention to detail.

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, learning and development, organizational development, communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience designing and developing learning content, training materials, curriculum, e-learning, or other instructional products.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning, learning objectives, assessment development, and evaluation.
• Strong PowerPoint and presentation-design skills.
• Experience creating learner-facing materials, facilitator guides, job aids, activities, and assessments.
• Experience working with a learning management system (LMS).
• Experience using Articulate 360 or similar e-learning development tools.
• Experience supporting multiple projects and managing deadlines in a collaborative environment.
• Experience supporting construction, engineering, project management, or technical learning environments is a plus.
