Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to develop curriculum and engaging training content for a technical workforce. The role supports the Training Systems Developer and drives multi-media instruction.

You will apply ADDIE/PADDIE-M, create storyboards, tests, and trainee guides, and collaborate with subject matter experts to close performance gaps. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in training development, or Associate's with 4+ years, or Military Master Training with 6+ years in curriculum development.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop instructional materials: PowerPoint lectures, trainee guides, audio/video scripts, storyboards, tests, etc.
  • Identify learning objectives, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies with program owners and SMEs.
  • Apply education principles, distance learning concepts, graphic design, and instructional media to determine goals and media.
  • Follow ADDIE/PADDIE-M models to develop design plans and final training products.
  • Identify training gaps from feedback and evaluations; report to stakeholders.
  • Manage Q&A follow-ups, evaluations, and communications to internal teams.

Instructional Design Specialist (ISD)-Curriculum Developer

Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Instructional Design Specialist who will be a key support to the Training Systems Developer and will create and deploy multi-platform training content used by various employees to learn new technical skills or other job‑related functions.

Job Description:
  • Develop instructional materials PowerPoint lectures, trainees' guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, tests, etc. that transform technical information into professionally written, engaging instruction.
  • Identify learning objectives, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver content including consulting with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and content requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of education principles and distance learning concepts, graphic design, and electronic teaching techniques to determine the goals, duration, approach, and instructional media which is the most effective for courseware and training purposes.
  • Follow ADDIE/PADDIE-M models to develop instructional design plans and final training products.
  • Identify program training gaps based on attendee feedback and engagement, program effectiveness evaluations, and process reviews.
  • Manage Q&A follow ups, project evaluations, and communicating relevant information to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years' experience in training development and delivery, OR Associate's Degree in related field and at least 4 years of experience OR completion of a Military Master Training and at least 6 years' experience in curriculum development (technical nature).
  • Must have experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
  • Experience in developing instructional design plans following ADDIE/PADDIE-M models.
  • Experience in graphic design.
Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional Travel - less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
