Job summary

OUC – The Reliable One in Orlando is offering an Instructional Design Intern position in the Workforce Engagement team. This internship provides hands-on experience designing and curating content for online learning platforms and supporting the e-learning development lifecycle.

You will work on LMS features, email/webpage design within the LMS using HTML, and collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Junior or above; Master’s students welcome.
• Program of study: Instructional Design & Technology, Educational Technology, HR-Learning & Development, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Previous internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design, development, and curation of engaging content for online learning platforms.
• Supporting the instructional design and e-learning development lifecycle from needs assessment to implementation.
• Applying instructional design principles and evaluation models to assess learning effectiveness.
• Participating in review and quality assurance of instructional materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Supporting implementation and enhancement of features within the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Assisting with the design and branding of emails, webpages, and landing pages within the LMS, using HTML and web design principles.
• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to coordinate projects and incorporate feedback.

OUC – The Reliable One, an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the Employee Experience division. The OUC Internship Program is dedicated to providing students with real-world, hands-on experience by partnering with energy leaders and experienced professionals, while bringing new and out-of-the-box perspectives and ideas.

We are looking for an Instructional Design Intern, partnering with the Workforce Engagement team.

Internship Eligibility:

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Academic status of Junior or above; Master’s students welcome.
• Program of study: Instructional Design & Technology, Educational Technology, HR-Learning & Development, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Previous internship experience preferred.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and methodologies such as ADDIE or SAM.
• Familiarity with e-learning tools (Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate).
• Basic understanding of LMS platforms and evaluation models.
• Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508).
• Familiarity with HTML, web design, or digital content development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong research, reporting, and data analysis skills.
• Creative thinker with marketing or engagement strategy experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of independent work.

Compensation:

$13.50 - $17.50 per hour, depending on education level

Schedule:

Part-Time (up to 25 hours/week) from January 11, 2027 to May 7, 2027, Onsite
