Job summary

Norwalk Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will facilitate student-centered reading and writing instruction and coach teachers to implement the district's Reading and Writing curriculum.

The role requires a lifelong learner with success in problem-based curriculum and delivering job-embedded professional learning. Collaboration with the leadership team and Reading/Writing Improvement Teacher is essential for aligning Tier I–III interventions.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required.
• Connecticut Professional Educator License with endorsements.
• Minimum of five years of exemplary teaching at two grade levels.
• Previous experience as a Literacy Coach or Teacher Leader preferred.
• Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with school leaders and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide job-embedded professional development and coaching to support literacy curriculum implementation.
• Play an active role on the school's Instructional Leadership Team.
• Support access to core curriculum for diverse learners including Multilingual Learners and Students with Disabilities.
• Use data to identify student needs and adjust instructional practices.
• Apply adult learning principles to coach, model, and facilitate inter-visitations.
• Build strong relationships with teachers and paraprofessionals.
• Attend regular professional learning workshops with the district team.
• Collaborate to align Tier I–III interventions.
• Create an articulated schedule with school leaders.
