Job summary

Cayuga-Onondond BOCES is seeking an Instructional Coach to partner with districts on goal‑oriented, data‑driven professional development and to support NYSED initiatives and standards implementation.

The role includes onsite coaching, modeling strategies, and designing, delivering and evaluating professional learning programs, with up to 30 summer days and a 10‑month salary starting at $60,000. Health benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Valid NYS Teacher Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support Planning Efforts of Districts: plan goal-oriented and data-driven professional development; disseminate information for teaching and learning improvement; support NYSED initiatives and standards implementation.
• Onsite Professional Coaching and Follow-Up: assess teachers' skill levels; model strategies; provide ongoing mentoring and coaching; develop methods for PD design, implementation, and evaluation; demonstrate instruction and provide feedback.
• Workshops- On-Site and /or Regional: design and deliver single/multi-day and afterschool workshops; plan and deliver customized PD services through presentation, facilitation, planning sessions, and consultation.

The Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Instructional Support Services Team has an exciting opportunity for a NYS Certified Teacher with a passion for teaching and learning! We are now accepting applications for an Instructional Coach. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of NYS standards, curriculum and instruction, current educational trends, initiatives for school reform and best practices in professional development. Valid NYS Teacher Certification is required. The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 18th.

This is a Ten (10) month position, with up to 30 additional summer days as needed.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

Support Planning Efforts of Districts:

• Consult and collaborate with district leaders to plan goal-oriented and data-driven professional development.
• Research and disseminate information relative to the improvement of teaching and learning.
• Support the work of NYSED initiatives and NYS Standards implementation.

Onsite Professional Coaching and Follow-Up:

• Assess the skill level of teachers to aid in the continual development of programs that meet the needs of the participants.
• Model strategies and provide ongoing support, mentoring and coaching through individual meetings as well as in workshop settings.
• Develop methods and strategies for designing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning programs.
• Provide continuing support for instruction by conducting classroom demonstrations, diagnostic observation with feedback, lesson planning and problem solving.

Workshops- On-Site and /or Regional:

• Design and deliver a variety of single day, multi-day and afterschool workshops based on district goals and requests.
• Plan and deliver customized professional development services through presentation, facilitation, planning sessions, and consultation.
