Job summary

Bentonville Schools seeks an instructional assistant to support certified staff and students in the classroom. Under supervision, you will reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction, and help with targeted programs to accelerate learning.

You will assist with assessments, prepare materials, document progress, manage behavior, and supervise non-instructional activities such as lunch, bus duty, and field trips. Experience with special needs is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to assist certified staff and support students with reading, math, and computer literacy.
• Experience with students with special needs desirable.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse individuals.
• Willingness to assist in non-instructional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups to reinforce skills.
• Support classroom teachers with exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and adapt strategies to student needs.
• Document student learning and performance.
• Assist in behavioral management to maintain a safe, on-task environment.
• Supervise lunch, bus, playground, study hall, and related duties.
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to involve families.
• Support students with disabilities to maximize inclusion.
