Job summary

El Dorado County Office of Education invites applications for an Instructional Assistant - Autism in the Special Services Program for 2026-2027. The position is part-time with a pay range of $21.59 to $26.75 per hour and may include a 10-month schedule, with hours varying.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in educational or structured settings; EDCOE IA-Autism exam required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college units or AA or pass knowledge/skills assessment.
  • Training in ABA techniques, TEACCH techniques, and behavior management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students with ASD.
  • Present instructional material to students with ASD.
  • Complete routine clerical duties.

  • El Dorado Hills to Camino The El Dorado County Office of Education accepts applications for Instructional Assistant- Autism - Special Services Program, on a year round basis, with no application deadline. This posting will be used to create an eligibility list. This list will be used for current and future openings. Purpose Statement: Under supervision of Director of Special Services or designee, provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD); present instructional material; complete routine clerical duties. This position is distinguished by knowledge of and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and other methods of instruction commonly used with students who have ASD. *Please note that all applicants must pass a multiple-choice exam and, if hired, must successfully complete a 50-pound lift assessment by one of our approved providers.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience working with children in an educational or other structured setting, preferably with students with disabilities. Successful completion of the EDCOE Instructional Assistant-Autism exam.
  • Education: High school diploma or the equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or A.A. degree (or higher), or pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Training in Applied Behavioral Analysis Techniques, TEACCH Techniques, and behavior management strategies. *All applicants are required to pass testing in order to be placed on an eligibility list
