Einstein Elementary within the Lake Washington School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff and maintain a positive learning environment.

The role is 183 days per year, 4.5 hours daily (9:05am–2:10pm). Duties include classroom assistance, lunchroom and playground support, and possible library or after-school program tasks; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with multiple pathways to qualify.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of: AA degree or two years of college (72 credits) or pass ParaPro or Paraprofessional assessments.
• Background check is required upon hire.

Hourly Rate

$27.71/an hour (SC11SEIU26-27.pdf ) Position is eligible for membership in the Service International Employees Union No. 925

This position is posted in accordance with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Collective Bargaining Agreement transfer process outlined in Section 15.9. The position will be posted internally for five (5) workdays. The internal posting will close on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026.

Interested employees must submit an Internal Application. To be eligible for transfer, employees must meet the posted qualifications and have been in their current position for at least six (6) months. Qualified applicants will be contacted directly.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR have completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR have passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher, OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher. Official documentation will be required upon hire.
