Job summary

Ascend Rehab Services Inc. is seeking an Instructional Assistant for our preschool program in San Ramon, CA. This in-person role supports teachers with daily activities, behavior management, and student records, approximately 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The IA will work with preschoolers, assist with meals, play, and learning activities, and help maintain a safe, organized classroom environment. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Prior professional experience working with children
• Experience in preschool settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities
• Assist in the management and shaping of student behavior through positive reinforcement strategies
• Auditory and visual monitoring of students both inside the classroom and during outside activities
• May perform clerical duties such as filing or duplicating materials
• Use computer to maintain student records, attendance and files
• Maintain student discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment
• Perform all related duties as assigned

Under supervision,the Instructional Assistant will perform a variety of instructional and clerical activities as directed by a teacher in a preschool classroom setting and will need to perform all related duties as assigned.

Instructional Assistants will assist with day-to-day classroom activities, games, play time, meal times, biological needs, and more. This is a hands-on, in-person position working directly with preschool aged students.

This position is ~30 hours per week.

Specific Duties Include:
