Job summary

Ascend Rehab Inc. is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support preschool classrooms in California. Under supervision, you will assist with instructional and clerical tasks, tutor students individually or in small groups, and help manage behavior in a hands-on, in-person role.

The position is ~30 hours per week, with duties including monitoring students, maintaining records, and supporting teachers in a busy learning environment. Prior experience with children is required or preferred.

• Maintain student discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Assist in maintaining a neat learning environment
• Perform all related duties as assigned

Under supervision,the Instructional Assistant will perform a variety of instructional and clerical activities as directed by a teacher in a preschool classroom setting and will need to perform all related duties as assigned.

Instructional Assistants will assist with day-to-day classroom activities, games, play time, meal times, biological needs, and more. This is a hands-on, in-person position working directly with preschool aged students.

This position is ~30 hours per week.

Specific Duties Include:

• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up learning activities;
• Assist in the management and shaping of student behavior through the use of positive reinforcement strategies;
• Auditory and visual monitoring of students both inside the classroom and during outside activities;
• May perform clerical duties such as filing or duplicating materials;
• Use computer to maintain student records, attendance and files;
• Maintain student discipline in the absence of the teacher;
• Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment;
• Perform all related duties as assigned;

Minimum Requirements:

-High school diploma

-Prior professional experience working with children
