ACCEL Schools LLC seeks an Instructional Aide for South Columbus Preparatory Academy at German Village in Columbus, Ohio. This role assists teachers with classroom activities and helps promote a positive school climate for EK-8 students.

The aide supports lessons, helps plan activities, and assists with school events, clerical tasks, and classroom technology use, while upholding the school’s philosophy and policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework or the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• BCI/FBI background check completed.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follows instructional plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports teacher in student and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities and events (parent nights, assemblies, fundraisers, chaperoning).
• Performs clerical duties (grading papers, copying).
• Assists with classroom technology usage and maintains cleanliness of classrooms and common areas.
• Adheres to the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Performs other duties including field trips, morning/dismissal, and lunch duty.
