Job summary

Capital City Sports Academy in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an Instructional Aide to assist teachers and promote positive student behavior in academics and activities. The role includes supporting lessons, managing classroom activities, and helping with parent relations, field trips, and events.

The position requires an associate degree (or two years of college or Paraprofessional’s Exam), proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to lift 25–40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• BCI/FBI background check required.
• Ability to meet educational standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individuals or groups.
• Helps plan classroom activities as directed by the Teacher and supports parent relations.
• Assists with school activities and events (parent nights, assemblies, field trips, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties like grading papers and making copies.
• Assists the Teacher with classroom technology.
• Maintains cleanliness of classroom and common areas.
• Embraces the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties including field trips, morning/dismissal, lunch duties.
