Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide at A+ Children’s Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The role supports the teacher with classroom activities, helps promote a positive climate, and contributes to a safe, engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or two years of college, MS Office skills, and the ability to lift 25–40 lbs. A successful background check is required, and prior school or social services experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework required.
• Paraprofessional’s Exam may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• MS Office proficiency required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with classroom activities and follow instructional plans.
• Support teachers in student and parent relations and plan classroom activities.
• Help with school activities such as events, assemblies, and field trips.
• Perform clerical duties like grading papers and making copies.
• Assist with classroom technology use and maintain cleanliness of spaces.
• Uphold the school’s philosophy and policies in all activities.
• Other duties as assigned, including duty roles and field trips.
