South Columbus Preparatory Academy - German Village, part of ACCEL Schools, is seeking an Instructional Aide to support teachers and promote a positive classroom environment. This role involves assisting with lessons, activities, and student behavior, while contributing to school events and operations.

The candidate should have an Associate degree or equivalent, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to meet educational standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional Exam is required.
• MS Office proficiency is required.
• BCI/FBI background check completion is required.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher with instructional activities and promote positive student behaviors.
• Support classroom activities and planning as directed by the Teacher or School Leader.
• Aid with school events and parent/faculty activities.
• Perform clerical duties like grading papers and making copies.
• Assist with classroom technology use.
• Help maintain clean and orderly classroom and lunch areas.
• Follow the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Other duties such as field trips and duty stations as assigned.
