Job summary

ILTexas Arlington K-8 is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students during the 2026-2027 school year in Arlington, TX. You will help prepare instructional materials, assist with classroom activities, and aid in assessments and records.

You will supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions, and report any needs or issues to the classroom teacher. This role emphasizes collaboration and classroom organization.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.
• Preferred higher education credentials recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests or assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Help supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground times.
• Make educators aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Any and all other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• 48+ Earned College Credits, Associates degree, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree at a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (Preferred)
• OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience:

Some experience working with children

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
