Job summary

ILTexas Arlington K-8 in Arlington, TX seeks an instructional assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. You will work under a certified teacher to support reading, writing, and math instruction and help prepare classroom materials.

You will also help with student supervision, record-keeping, and routine school operations, including duties in lunchroom, bus, and playground areas.

Qualifications

• 48+ earned college credits or higher degree preferred.
• High School Diploma accepted if ESSA assessment is passed.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and work assignments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Inform teacher of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This is for the 2026-2027 School Year

Primary Purpose:

Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing of classroom activities.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• 48+ Earned College Credits, Associates degree, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree at a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (Preferred)
• OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Support

2. 11. Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
